Brimming with character and comfort, Spring Cottage makes the perfect base for breaks throughout the year. Walk over stepping stones to a low doorway and into a sunny, beamed open-plan sitting room with homemade teatime treats, local apple juice and a welcome tray with fresh flowers and free-range eggs waiting for you.
Spring Cottage provides the perfect base to help you relax and recharge, whether you are planning exhilarating walks over Dartmoor or the South West Coast Path, fishing the Tamar for salmon or trout or cycling through the villages and hamlets that make up this tranquil part of the county. Or simply unwinding with a glass of wine by the pond, a steaming hot chocolate by a winter log fire or soaking by candlelight in a roll-top bath?
Our friendly and characterful pub, The Royal Inn at Horsebridge, is just a few minutes away by car and serves local ales and a hearty, locally-sourced menu. Venturing a little further afield you are spoilt with National Trust properties, open gardens, farm shops, craft galleries, excellent restaurants, fabulous walks and numerous activities all within half an hourís drive.
The ancient Stannary and market town of Tavistock is 20 minutes away, as is Launceston with its landmark castle, while the historic Ocean City of Plymouth is little more than 35 minutes by car; the far west of Cornwall is around 90 minutes away, while rugged north Devon and its gentler south Devon coastline are around an hour.
