On a 260 acre working farm, where arable land combines with the pasture fields of cows and sheep, the imaginatively converted farm stead buildings each sleep between 4 and 6 people. Frankaborough Cottage, The Old Shippon and The Old Dairy beckon guests to take refuge for a relaxing break with all needed appliances and fixtures and furnishings found throughout. Available to hire for the first time in the summer of 2007, Rose Cottage is the latest addition to provide sanctuary to those in search of a welcoming base near to the quiet village of Lifton.
All four cottages have their own distinctive features and characteristics. A traditional country décor resides throughout with exposed beams and wood burners set in stone fire places creating a warm atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. The carefree way of life at Frankaborough can be taken advantage of in of the each cottages’ private gardens where guests are more than welcome to unwind as the sun shines overhead. An afternoon of pampering can also be savoured with a beauty therapist at the farm performing a host of treatments.
Only six miles away from the A30, guests are more than welcome to take a stroll around the farm and sample its surrounding scenery. During feeding time youngsters can even interact with newly born lambs – sure to leave an everlasting memory!
The nearest public house is in Ashwater – four miles away – where a Post Office, general store can also be found. The famous town of Launceston with shops and a castle is a short journey away with a weekly pannier market and cattle market at Holsworthy ten miles away. Although boasting a picturesque setting, the stunning beaches at Bude and the bright lights at Plymouth are easily reached in the car for family days out.
