Lynher Farm
Type: Guest House
So peaceful friendly and fabulous breakfasts! ... Just some of the comments that are frequently written in our guest book. So why not see for yourself.
Ewart and Pamela warmly welcome you into their beautiful Victorian Farmhouse all year round. Lynher is a 200 acre working beef and sheep farm situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Lynher is situated just ten minutes drive from the A30 dual carriage way that gives fast access to explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall.
This is the perfect place to unwind and relax - In summer take time to explore, the surrounding fields, river, woodland and maze of country lanes with hedgerows abundant with wild flowers and birds, or simply relax in the large garden and admire the peacocks.
In winter open log fires and private lounge await. A large selection of board games, books, local maps are provided for your use.
As a working farm you are welcome to see the animals - come at the right time and you may be fortunate to witness the latest arrival be it a baby calf or lamb!
The farmhouse itself is full of character and warmth. Bedrooms are large and well appointed complete with beverage making facilities, TV and wonderfully comfortable beds. Breakfast is guaranteed to set you up for the day - a large selection of cereals, fruit, traditional English breakfast, and Pamela's home made bread and preserves - heaven with a dollop of clotted cream!
Golf, watersports, fishing, riding, theatre, bowling facilities are all available locally. Morwellham, Trethorne Leisure Centre with indoor bowling and a golf course, Cotehele and Lanhydrock and The Eden Project are ideal for a great family day out, or view cheese being made one of the local cheese farms Lynher is also centrally positioned between the north coast famed for its surfing and sandy beaches and the south coast with fabulous coastal walks and small fishing villages.
Sample the local produce, wine, numerous cheeses, wild boar and venison. There are several good pubs and restaurants within close driving proximity serving great food such as the The Caradon or The Race Horse, drive a little further to the Springer Spaniel at Treburley or Rifle Volunteer at St Anne's Chapel, or something a bit different at Designs in Launceston.
Why not 'push the boat out' and sample the fine dining of celebrity TV chef Rick stein in Padstow.
So much to see and do and at the end of the day return to Lynher for a good nights sleep - home from home!
