Type: Historic Site

An award-winning, evocative museum and visitor centre based around the historic port and mine workings on the River Tamar (Devon/Cornwall boundary). Here you can journey into another world! Costumed guides and craftsmen are on hand to interpret this unique site and a tramway will carry you deep into the heart of the George and Charlotte Copper Mine. Elsewhere the whole panoply of Victorian life unfolds, sailing ships, picturesque cottages, a farm worked by horses, walled gardens, child labourers and overcrowded tenements, all human life is here.
